Roast Leg of Kid


  • Prep time about 10 minutes

  • Cooking time depends on size of joint (see below)


  • 1 Leg of Kid

  • 3 cloves of Garlic (sliced into slithers)

  • 3 sprigs of Rosemary

  • Seasoning


  1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees C

  2. Make small incisions into the meat on both sides.  In each incision pop in a slither of garlic and poke in a few rosemary leaves.

  3. Season the meat and place in a baking tray.

  4. Roast the meat uncovered for 25 minutes per 500g plus 25 minutes.

  5. Remove from oven, wrap in foil and leave to rest - we tend to leave it resting whilst we roast the potatoes.

  6. Carve, serve with gravy and veg of your choice (a butternut squash purée works very well).
